CHS Group and Airlog Group join forces in the Finnish market

CHS Group and Airlog Group start a joint venture company in Finland. This new company buys the business activities of Air Logistics Finland. With this joint venture CHS Group expands its business to air freight and Airlog Group extends its offering to Russia.
CHS Group is privately owned Finnish independent freight forwarder with experienced and reputable staff. Airlog Group is privately owned Nordic freight forwarder with strong international network in air freight and sea freight. With the joint venture both groups strengthen their market position in the Finnish freight forwarding market. The customers will experience the benefits of wider service offering and efficient operation. With good connections via the Helsinki-Vantaa airport it is efficient to reach Finland, The Baltics and the Western parts of Russia including St. Petersburg area.
The new joint venture will operate under the company name CHS Air Logistics Oy starting 1.3.2012. The offices are situated in Helsinki-Vantaa and Tampere. The company is owned by CHS Holding Oy (70%) and Airlog Group AB (30%). The staff of Air Logistics Finland will move to the new company.
The goals of Airlog Group www.airloggroup.com and CHS Group are similar. Both groups have been growing strongly during the past years and both groups are actively looking for new business activities.
CHS Retail builds an integrated logistics system for furniture in Finland

CHS Retail builds a new furniture logistics system in Finland. Within the scope of new furniture distribution system CHS Retail combines international transportation, domestic distribution system and terminal and storage services in one seamless high-powered operational chain. One of the strong focuses of CHS Retail´s activity will be IT solutions as well as informational services. Clients will have the possibility to follow the stock level as well as leave their orders electronically.
CHS Retail is a part of CHS Group and is owned by CHS Holding and Kari Suhonen. CHS Group specializes in areas of international transportation, forwarding, warehousing and logistical IT solutions. Kari Suhonen has extensive experience in domestics furniture distribution. Kari Suhonen is appointed managing director of CHS Retail. CHS Retail´s head office is situated in Forssa.
Through this new dimension of CHS Group´s business portfolio company strengthens its long term commitment to broaden and develop new, added value logistics services in addition to the core businesses. Furniture logistics being substantial enterprise also supports CHS Group getting even better position at the national market.
CHS Group´s total turnover for the year 2011 was EUR 24,4 million and forcasted for year 2012 is EUR 33 million. Arealog becomes part of CHS Group

UCB Universal Consulting Bureau Oy has purchased the majority shareholding in Arealog Oy, a forwarding company operating in Kotka, Finland. By this acquisition Arealog becomes part of the CHS group. Arealog was established in 2007 and is specialized in transit traffic to Russia. Its the major market areas are Russia and the Far East.
The deal has no effect on the present staff’s employment. Harri Uusitalo has been appointed managing director of Arealog as from 1.2.2010.
The CHS Group has grown considerably during the last years. The parent company of the group is UCB Universal Consulting Bureau Oy. Other companies in the group are CHS Logistics, that operates as forwarding and supply Chain company in Lappeenranta and Helsinki with extensive warehousing facilities in Lappeenranta, CHS Expo Freight that is specialized in logistics for fairs and exhibitions and cultural events, CHS Sea Freight that handles transports to Russia and other CIS countries. In addition part of the group is Tempro, which is specialized in recruitment of staff for logistics.
In the autumn of 2009 CHS Logistics bought the Lappeenranta operations of the multinational forwarding company Geodis Wilson Finland and through this deal 19 people were employed in addition to taking over 10 000 m2 of warehousing space in Lappeenranta Free Zone Area in Mustola Port. Today the company handles 49 000 m2 of covered warehousing space and has become one of Finland’s leading operators in the transit traffic to Russia.
CHS group employs today about 100 persons and the budgeted turnover for 2010 is estimated to be 15 million Euros.
CHS opens an office in Kotka

CHS Sea Freight Oy starts operating in Kotka offering specialized logistics services in international traffic from all over the world via the ports of Kotka, Hamina and the Baltic ports to Russia and CIS countries. The company is part of the fast growing CHS Group that operates in Kotka, Hamina, Lappeenranta and Helsinki with staff of some 90 persons in Finland and an annual turnover of about 10 million euros.

CHS Expo Freight takes care of the logistics services for the Finnish Olympic Committee for the winter olympics 2010. The olympic games are held in Vancouver, Canada on 12.-28.2.2010.
CHS Logistics and Geodis Wilson Finland tighten their cooperation in Lappeenranta

CHS Logistics and Geodis Wilson Finland are tightening their cooperation. The aim is to maintain the high standard logistics services and employ logistics professionals in Lappeenranta area. Due to the transaction the two companies' activities in Lappeenranta will be merged. The new organization will be able to offer more versatile warehousing, forwarding and supply chain solutions for the Russian and Finnish market. CHS Logistics and Geodis Wilson will also tighten the cooperation in international air- and sea transports, utilizing Geodis Wilson international network.
The deal will happen in two stages. In the first stage Geodis Wilson's terminal- and warehousing activities and staff will be transferred to CHS Logistics as from 1.7.2009. In the second stage all forwarding activities and staff will be transferred to CHS Logistics.
Due to the deal CHS Logistics will increase its activities considerably in Lappeenranta. In a bigger logistics- and warehousing service unit, cross utilization of both staff and space is more efficient as the different client's peak seasons will even out the changes is capacity needs in different periods.
Geodis Wilson Finland Oy is part of the international SNCF group where the majority is owned by the French Railways. Geodis Wilson is specialized in air- and sea transports and warehousing services.

Entre Marketing and CHS Expo Freight are starting close co-operation

Entre Marketing and CHS Expo Freight have signed a contract for close co-operation, with an aim to enhance the potential of Finnish companies to succeed internationally. For this purpose, Entre and CHS have agreed on cooperation that facilitates competitive and high-quality logistics service solutions for Entre’s exhibitor customers. In practise, Entre will promote joint transportation of exhibition goods and CHS provides logistics services related to the shipments.
Entre Marketing Oy focuses on planning and organising of international and domestic fairs, exhibitions and event marketing. Entre is the business leader in Finland. In 2007, Entre operated in 32 countries, implementing a total of 740 various events. In May 2007, Wulff Group acquired major stake of Entre Marketing Oy’s shares, which were previously owned by key personnel of Finpro ry and Entre Group.
